Installing the LV10117H Inset Vanity Basin
The LV10117H is a self-rimming drop-in basin that seats into a 750 × 375 mm vanity countertop cutout. Follow these five steps and safety notes for a watertight, code-compliant fit — whether you are a cabinet maker, hotel maintenance team, or DIY renovator.
Tools You'll Need
Template & Cut the Countertop Opening
Lay the supplied template (or the 750 × 375 mm outline) on the vanity top and trace the cutout. Cut the opening with a fine-tooth jigsaw or router, keeping the edge square and smooth. Dry-fit the basin to confirm a clean 2–3 mm reveal around the self-rimming rim.
Apply a Silicone Bead to the Rim
Run a continuous 100% silicone bead along the top face of the countertop cutout edge (not on the basin itself). This forms the watertight seal between the ceramic rim and the benchtop. Avoid gaps at the corners where water can track through.
Seat the Basin Into the Cutout
Lower the LV10117H into the opening so the self-rimming rim rests flush on the countertop. Press evenly around the rim to bed the silicone, then wipe the excess from inside and outside with a damp cloth for a clean fillet.
Secure From Underside (Optional Clips)
On thinner or suspended countertops, fasten the basin with the supplied underside mounting clips and a light, even torque. Do not over-tighten — the self-rimming rim already carries the load, and over-clamping can crack the vitreous china.
Connect Drain & Pressure-Test for Leaks
Fit the Ø44 mm drain assembly with its gasket, connect the P-trap, and open the supply. Run water for 2–3 minutes and inspect the rim seal and trap joints from below. Tighten only if a weep appears, then re-test before closing up.
Important Safety Notes
- •Use ONLY 100% silicone sealant. NEVER use cement, epoxy, or expanding/grab-adhesive sealants — these harden or swell after cure and can crack the ceramic or lift the rim.
- •Wear protective gloves when handling the basin; fired vitreous china edges can be sharp.
- •Comply with local plumbing codes and the basin's rated load; engage a licensed plumber where required.
- •Do not stand or place heavy loads on the rim during installation.
